I participated the dinner yesterday, which I organized the restaurant and gifts for the colleagues who will retire at the end of March. I was relieved as the dinner finished smoothly. I spent time on thinking and buying the gift for them and try to collect the money, book the restaurant that is very minor task, but it still requires a amount of care.
The problem is that I felt that the dinner was boring. I meant the conversation there was boring for me. I knew that the main person on that dinner wasn’t me but the colleagues who will retire soon, so the story was about him. I listen to the story and the participants react that the story.
It was about his history about an overseas assignment, which I couldn’t achieve, a dream I reached for but couldn’t catch.
Listening to people talk about he past can be boring… Don’t you think so? I often wonder why stories that start with back then…feel so dull.
Anyway, the dinner was over and I finished my task organizing the dinner and made them satisfied…
